A guiding vision for REAP is to offer people opportunities for “becoming new creations” in learning to love one another and care for the earth (2 Corinthians 5:14-17). By co-operating with liaison organizations to create alternative training opportunities, REAP will provide a witness to the world, encouraging joint efforts to address the world’s pressing issues.
REAP grants are drawn from investment profits accumulated in any given year. Unused funds are available for use during times of local, national and international disaster to help the less fortunate survive and rebuild. To date, the Brethren Benefit Trust REAP FUND has provided over 58 assistance scholarships totaling $120,000 to individuals throughout Nebraska, the USA, and the world.
